São Martinho do Porto is a place where many people gather in the summer. This makes it a bit more difficult to park near the beach in the summer, but no less nice. In the summer, the beach is partly supervised by the lifeguards and tents can be rented so that you can sit out of the sun. There are also many activities and facilities available.
There is also a train station and supermarket Intermarcé, (and a cheap gas station) a daily market with fruit and vegetables.
